Default Harold Asmus #71 Ft. Collins, CO

From the Lou Wendzel collection circa 1951:
Sign painters always have the coolest looking race cars. These photos of sign painter Harold Asmus and his #71 Ford coupe at Speedway Park in Ft. Collins, CO will attest to that fact. ~VB

Buzz, thanks for those photos. Nice to see examples of good lettering. I always loved the 'stock car' and 'truck' lettering styles from that era. Tried to learn to do that once upon a time, but just could never figure out how. There was an earlier posting wondering if examples of good race car lettering would be of interest. I, for one, would love to see some of that. From the W.A.R.C. Yearbook here's another Harold Asmus car, a sedan this time, hard to see, but also has the checked paint scheme above the belt line. Like to find a better photo of this car because it also has clean lettering. BP

Who has these pictures? Harold Asmus is my wife's Grandfather, I would love to make a copy of the pictures for her and her father to have.
