Default Rear engine Midgets

Some do not know this but a few drivers experimented with rear engine cars.
Here is a pic of one that we ran against.
Yes, that is a Midget race car.

Here's Pete Brandenburg's rear engine Midget he ran in Colorado during the early '70's.....

Australians also experimented with rear engined midgets. This Bill Dutton car ran in Victoria Australia.

Well, from the pics, it looks like you could have just taken a formula V and modified it a little, and had a rear engined VW midget.

When did Formula V come into existence? I suggest the early 1960s!
The Australian car would predate that Formula by a decade at least!
