Frank, just one adjustment to the list of past Lakeside Speedway track champs; One of the later Lakeside Speedway programs did a CARC history piece that had Bill Starks as champ in 1955 and 1956, while Fritz Wilson was champ in 1957 and 1958. I have a '56 program that shows the point standings as of the Mid Season Championship race and Starks, in first place, had a 93 point lead over Fritz who was in 4th place. That's a lot to catch up, so pretty sure that old program listing is accurate. Interesting to note that for 1955 through 1957, a '32 Ford 3 window coupe was champ car for three years in a row!

This is what I remember of what Arthur Ducker, Pete's dad, explained about his son's death.

Pete (Ducker) died November 14, 1953 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. It was at a AAA Midget Championship Race, during which the steering apparatus on Pete’s midget race car collapsed, causing it to catapult into the infield and roll several times. Ducker was killed instantly. Arthur was not told at what point (lap) during the race that Pete’s crash occurred. Pete Ducker was also a member of the RMMRA.

This was told to me a couple of years later after my mom and I moved to an apartment (after dad died) that was owned by Arthur Ducker in Denver, Colorado, one block from the Denver/Englewood city line.
I am Pete Ducker's niece, please can you tell me did you know him? Or do you have stories and/or pictures of him and his races? I would be interested in anything you could tell me. See my intro message
