Midgets at CNS 1975 - Auto Racing Memories

Photo's courtesy of RJButz, I love these candid, non professional snap shots. These are a couple of RMMRA event at Colorado National Speedway in 1975.

Duane Harr chats and admires his always beautiful #82, this was the Edmunds kit car that replaced the trusty Kurtis Kraft, looks like Dennis "Bush" Hall is changing gears.

Looks like Bush is finished with the gear change, classic Chevy II sticking out from under the hood of the "Decals Inc" midget. Nice towel being used as a hand rag there.

Looks like they are lining up, coming off turn 4 at CNS, Duane Harr is outside Pete Brandenburg in Bud Zimmerman's roadster #19, and Garry Staggers in his own Offy #43.

Maybe heat race action, Larry Houghton in his own#35, Duane Harr #82, another Edmunds car #16 is Willy Hardman's, car usually driven by Ray
Flanagan, to me that looks like Willie at the wheel. Lots of Chevy II's, all three in this shot are Chevy's.

Dave Strickland Sr. in Roger Mauro's Edmunds VW#1, Don "Spyder" Anderson in Vern Shaver's #10, Eddie Jackson in Chuck Mauro's #5, Don Edmund's cars with VW power fill up this photo. That may be Steve Troxell as team mate to Strickland, in Roger Mauro's Edmunds built car, however is the lone SESCO (Chevy), hard to tell for sure. These photo's are wonderful memories, I was 15, and chomping at the bit to some day get out there and race with those dudes. Of all the drivers in these shots, I did get to race with Staggers, Brandenburg, and Hardman. All the others had retired by the time I got in.
